  • Children’s Mental Health Ontario represents Ontario’s publicly funded Child and Youth Mental Health Centres. Their goal is to promote a coordinated and high-quality system of care that puts children, tough and families first.

  • Child Disability Tax Credit – The child disability tax credit is a tax-free monthly payment made to families who care for a child under age 18 with a severe and prolonged impairment in physical or mental functions. 
  • HOPE – Helping Others Parent Effectively is HOPE is a parent/ professional-led support group for parents and caregivers of children/teens with ADHD. At HOPE meetings you can receive education, share concerns and suggestions and learn advocacy skills in a non judgemental setting with others who are living daily with similar ADHD challenges.
  • Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO) is an umbrella organization which represents Children’s Mental Health Agencies in Ontario who serve 148,000 children and their families throughout the province. CMHO advocates for the well being of children and families, promotes an environment that leads to mental health, and promotes quality mental health programs for children.
  • CHEO is a global leader in pediatric health, dedicated to helping children and youth live their best lives. CHEO combines excellence in clinical care, research and education with a commitment to working with our partners to advance seamless care that’s provided where, when and how it’s needed.
  • Distress Centre of Niagara is a 24-hour, free, confidential telephone crisis intervention support service available to anyone in need in the Niagara Region.
  • The Early Childhood Community Development Centre (ECCDC) Parent Direct Niagara is an online directory to help you find information and links to programs, services, and resources for children and families in Niagara. It is operated by the Early Childhood Community Development Centre, a charitable organization improving the quality of child care and early learning programs by providing cutting edge training, resources, and coaching services to early learning professionals.
  • Early Years Niagara ”Early Years“ is a nationwide initiative aimed at providing our children with the best possible start in life. The concept of the Early Years, considered to be those from birth to age six, is that the more interaction a child has with a loving and nurturing adult during their first six years, the greater the child will develop intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially. There are presently four Early Years Centres, numerous satellite sites, and mobile units serving the families of Niagara. There is no cost, no fee, no membership, no appointment required. Parents, caregivers, grandparents and children are ALL welcome to drop in to an Early Years Centre.
  • Family and Children’s Services Niagara (FACS) is the local Children’s Aid Society — mandated by the Child and Family Services Act to investigate the abuse and neglect of children and to provide protection, foster care, and adoption services. FACS offers a wide range of programs to prevent and treat the problems of abuse and neglect and to support the children, youth, and families of the community. Serving Niagara from offices in St. Catharines, Welland, and Niagara Falls, FACS is a charitable, non-profit agency reporting to the community through a volunteer Board of Directors and funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
  • National Institute of Mental Health provides information about mental disorders, a range of related topics, and the latest mental health research
  • Niagara Children’s Centre (NCC) provides a range of services and programs for children who have a physical or communicative disability to help them be at their best in whatever they do. Services provided include: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech/language pathology, and augmentative communication. NCC is a non-profit registered charitable organization funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
  • Offord Centre aims to better understand the causes and consequences of children’s mental health problems from a population health perspective. Combining expertise in child psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, epidemiology, pediatrics and policy development, the Offord Centre encourages innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Ontario Association for Suicide Prevention is a networking, education and resource organization that links communities in Ontario by supporting and encouraging the development of suicide prevention, intervention, and post-intervention materials and activities.
  • Parents for Children’s Mental Health is a voluntary group of parents dedicated to helping families and improving mental health services in Ontario. The Website is hosted by parents who have had or who are currently using the mental health services of Ontario.
  • Youth Mental Health Canada is a grassroots, youth-driven and led non-profit organization focused on education, advocacy and filmmaking for youth mental health change. Advocating for greater funding of publicly funded, culturally sensitive, needs-based, innovative supports and services in healthcare and education.
