STOP – Social Worker – Registered Therapist (Masters)

Position Summary

The successful candidate in this position will provide direct individual therapy to children/youth who engage in sexualized behaviours, have been perpetrator or victim of sexual abuse/assault, require assessment and planning around sexual interfering behaviours. In light of the nature of the cases case load is monitored to ensure therapist wellness. Direct clinical supervision is offered on a monthly and ad hoc basis. The successful candidate will also offer services to family systems in the form of family therapy, parent training, psycho-education. Additional duties may include collaboration with community partners, and attendance at community service meetings.

Qualifications

• S.W., M.A.;
• Registered as a Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or Registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario;
• 2 years’ clinical experience;
• Experience working with children/youth with sexualized or sexually interfering behaviours
• Experience and / or training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions in assessments,
  individual, family and group therapy, and brief solution focused treatment;
• Familiarity with offering services via virtual platforms (i.e. email, text, online counselling) would be considered an asset;
• If direct virtual supports are unfamiliar then an understanding of the various forms of virtual care, as well as an understanding of clinical and privacy responsibilities would be an asset;
• Bilingual in (French and English) is preferred;
• Experience working with the Indigenous population is an asset;
• Good communication and organizational skills;
• A current Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check within the last six (6) months;
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, able to supply own vehicle, and be insurable to drive in Ontario
