Intake – Social Worker – Registered Therapist 1

Position Summary

The Social Worker/Registered Therapist 1 – Intake will help support the flow of service requests that come into the agency as well as complete the intake process that will help effectively triage clients and their families to our various programs, along with all Child and Youth Mental Health programs in the Niagara Region. This role will be responsible for completing intake and clinical assessment functions for the agency, triaging to appropriate community resources as well as creating new files in EMHware, maintaining pertinent statistics and assuming a resource role for our community partners. In addition, you will be required to provide brief therapeutic interventions within your scope of practice.

Qualifications

• B.S.W. or related discipline;
• Registered as a Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or Registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario;
• 3-4 years’ relevant clinical experience;
• Experience and / or training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions;
• Familiarity with offering services via virtual platforms (i.e. email, text, online counselling) would be considered an asset;
• If direct virtual supports are unfamiliar then an understanding of the various forms of virtual care, as well as an understanding of clinical and privacy responsibilities would be an asset;
• Bilingual in (French and English) is preferred;
• Experience working with the Indigenous population is an asset;
• Good communication and organizational skills;
• A current Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check within the last six (6) months;
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, able to supply own vehicle, and be insurable to drive in Ontario
