Family Advisory Committee Engagement (FACE)

Who WE are

A group of like-minded family members and people with lived experience representing various child and youth service organizations across the Niagara Region, including Pathstone Mental Health.  All members have accessed child and youth services across the Region pertaining to mental health, addiction, autism, and developmental services.

Our Goal

To make a positive impact on the way child and youth services are planned and delivered across Niagara

How WE achieve this

  • With the support of Pathstone, which is the lead agency of child and youth mental health services in Niagara we have a solid foundation and the resources we need to offer effective support to community partner agencies across the region.
  • Structured to make relationship building a priority, we are able to stay informed and keep community partner agencies informed on ways to enhance and improve service experiences for all.
  • We speak with one unified voice

All members are able to offer context and perspective through their lived experience.

How YOU can get involved

There are two ways, and BOTH offer the same benefits:

  • YOU will have an impact on the way children and youth services are planned and delivered
  • YOU will gain more knowledge about the types of programs and services that are available
  • YOU will meet and form relationships with others who have shared experiences
  • YOU will connect with those who provide child and youth services across the region

#1) Join Our Regional Network – Time commitment, dependent on the number of initiatives you choose

Family members and people with lived experience will have the opportunity to take on opportunities of interest. You will be contacted directly about participating in things like working groups, surveys, focus groups etc. and will be told of the purpose and time commitment.

#2) Join Our Regional Advisory Team – Time commitment will range from 90 minutes to 5 hours monthly. (mostly through virtual meetings and email feedback)

Family members and people with lived experience will both advise and partner with organizations and the network to support engagement and partnerships with families and organizations.  As a group, we will both identify areas and topics of interest to families related to service delivery, how it impacts families and how they are supported. These needs will be different for every organization. The opportunity to participate in sub-committees is also available and is optional.
