Position Summary
Pathstone Foundation is seeking a passionate and dynamic Donor Relations Specialist to join our dedicated team. This front-facing fundraiser will play a pivotal role in engaging prospects and donors, fostering relationships, and driving revenue generation to support our mission of strengthening mental health services for children and teens in Niagara.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, a commitment to Pathstone’s mission, and a desire to connect with the community. You will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of mid-level donors ($2,500–$15,000), including grants, service clubs, individual donors, and corporate donors. With a focus on relationship-building, stewardship, and revenue growth, you will represent Pathstone in the community and find creative ways to show donors the impact of their generosity.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Engagement & Fundraising:
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level donors, including individuals, corporate partners, service clubs, and grant-making organizations.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue from donors giving between $2,500 and $15,000 annually.
- Represent Pathstone at community events, delivering compelling presentations to inspire donor engagement and support.
- Create personalized proposals, presentations, and impact reports to engage and steward donors.
Stewardship & Donor Recognition:
- Develop and execute creative stewardship initiatives to thank donors and demonstrate the impact of their support.
- Work closely with the Director to ensure timely and accurate acknowledgment of gifts, including preparation of thank-you letters and tax receipts.
- Foster meaningful relationships with donors, ensuring they feel valued and engaged with Pathstone’s mission.
Event Support:
- Serve as the staff lead for community events, including evening and weekend engagements.
- Collaborate with volunteers and event committees to execute successful fundraising and stewardship events.
Organizational Support:
- Maintain accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge, tracking interactions, contributions, and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with CRA tax receipting requirements and adhere to ethical fundraising practices.
- Manage competing priorities and projects effectively, meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations.
Qualifications
- A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Non-profit Management, Fundraising, Marketing, Business Administration).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or donor engagement.
- Proven success in cultivating and stewarding donors.
- Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and CRA tax receipting requirements.
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical fundraising practices and adherence to sector standards.
